few things have perturbed me as much as discovering that s.e. hinton thought those boys were straight.

I didn’t even know S. E. Hinton was still alive. 

Like, based on the year the book was published, I just assumed she was dead.

I also assumed SHE was a HE until literally two seconds ago when I looked it up. IDK why. I guess because it was a book about young boys? Like, I read this book for my YA Lit class, which I did really good in and loved the professor, and I still didn’t learn that S.E. Hinton was alive, or female. And now I’ve also learned from the internet that she’s kind of a dipshit.
