that’s the thing, they weren’t separating them by gender. they told the cis children to go to the safest place, even if it was the bathroom of the “opposite” gender. cis BOYS can hide for safety in the girls’ bathroom (which they should be allowed to do ofc) but trans GIRLS can’t. nor is she allowed in the boys’. In other words, they’ve just told this child and the whole world “we hope she dies if there’s a shooter.” or at the least that they wouldn’t care one bit if she did.
