After her son’s murder, Lucy became a gun control activist, and was just elected to Congress in Georgia. Her win, which unseats Republican Rep. Karen Handel, seems only more poignant the morning after 12 people were gunned down in California. 

I’d like to add: one of the victims of yesterday’s mass shooting at Thousand Oaks was a survivor of the Vegas Shooting. Telemachus Orfanos survived the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, only to be gunned down 13 months later. He was 27. 

Less than 24 hours ago, Orfanos and 11 other people were alive and healthy. 

The Pittsburgh synagogue shooting occurred 2 weeks before. 

No U.S. shooting is an isolated incident.

Gun violence is an epidemic created and perpetuated by white men motivated by entitlement and bigotry.

For the record, the guy actually invented this with the intent of it being used to crack down on human trafficking. Traffickers often cover their victims in heavy/unusual makeup before posting pics of them online, to make them harder to detect using normal software.

So basically this is a case of really shitty reporting. The article could have been about an app used to rescue victims of trafficking but they decided to flippantly make it about make-up
